Victorian ball gown

“Exquisite” is the only word that comes close to capturing the

true description of this beautiful Victorian Ball Gown.

This gown is a work of wearable art.

A treasure sure to be the center of attention at any event.

This gown is a faithful rendition of the classic gowns worn in the

Victorian period from 1876 - 1881.

The bodice and skirt are festooned with hand made morning glories with

freshwater pearl centers.  Morning glories vine up the side trim panels

of the skirt and the back trim sashes.

The skirt front panel is trimmed in lace and hand

beaded with freshwater pearls and seed beads.  In total there are 407 peach

coloured freshwater pearls on this magnificent gown.

The basic fabric of the dress is Floral Bengaline trimmed in Silk Dupioni and lace.

This gown is named for my Grandmother Arilla Elizabeth, who, though she passed many years ago,

is ever present in my heart and in my sewing room.

  This gown is SOLD

"This seamstresses Grandmother must be very proud. Having been taught to sew from my Grandmother, I can relate to "knowing that she watches over my sewing room", as well. Very unique use of pleating - impressive! The "beading" is a nice finishing touch. Another talented seamstress!"
